Iconic and fun brooch from Chanel, it featured in an early Karl Lagerfeld runway show and is instantly recognisable. It was part of his successful attempt to update the image of a rather staid House of Chanel. The matching earrings appeared on the Spring/Summer 1986 Haute Couture runway.

The brooch has a round Chanel coin with the Chanel CC logo and 'Chanel Rue Cambon Paris' around its circumference. The hanging charm is a reference to the famous quilted Chanel handbag. The brooch comes in a lovely shiny goldtone finish.

Stamped and dated Chanel oval cartouche on reverse. From Season 23 (Spring/Summer 1986).

Comes with its own Chanel box.

Measurements

Total length of pin is 3.2" (8cms), bag is 1.3" wide (3cms).

There is some loss of goldtone to the reverse of the bag charm but otherwise the pin is in excellent vintage condition.
